He played for twenty straight seasons for San Diego Padres. Because of his fame and his many titles won, he was able to receive five hundred and thirty-two votes for the hall of fame award.

Cal Ripken Jr.- This famous baseball player is the top hall of fame awardee this year. Cal Ripken Jr. grew up in Aberdeen and played for the Baltimore Orioles, received five hundred and thirty seven votes, making him one of the most popular players in the history of baseball.

Aside from the above-mentioned hall of fame awardees, there are quite a number of famous baseball players that has truly made baseball one of the most popular sports in history. Baseball is a sport that has started years and years ago. From the 1940’s, one of the most famous baseball players of the 1940’s Roger Bresnahan. He was considered of the most versatile players in the history of baseball in the twentieth century. He was recognized as the best base runners in the history of baseball. He was the one who helped in revolutionizing the art and the science of base running, where he was able to total more than nine hundred stolen bases of the nineteen years in professional baseball. He was awarded six times for the All Star Selections. He was also the one that helped the Saint Louis Cardinals to be able to join the National League as well as the World Series Championship, following his accumulated hits of almost three thousand.

George Bratt is another famous baseball player in the late 1990’s.
