Baseball Team Logos

Logos play a vital part not only to business but also to sports. Generally, a logo signifies an identity to a business company and a sports team. To baseball teams, baseball team logos represent the team’s overall individuality and appeal. This is basically the reason why baseball team logos should be unique and created with simple but appealing designs. Well-designed baseball team logos can definitely add some mileage to baseball teams, thus making them stand out above from the other teams.

There are generally three types of baseball team logos: the symbol logos, the text logos, and the combination of both symbol and text logos. A text logo is where a name of a baseball team is written on a calligraphic style. A symbol logo uses graphical images, symbols and icons of a baseball team. The third type, the combination logo, is basically a combination of both a text logo and a symbol logo.

Major League Baseball Team Logos- There are different major league baseball leagues that include the American League, the National League, the Post-Season League, and the All-Star Games. The baseball team logo of the Baltimore Oriole is on orange oriole on top of the Oriole text that has been used from 1998 until today. The Boston Red Sox has a logo of a pair of red socks, enclosed by the name of the team itself that has been in the industry from 1962 until today. The logo of the Chicago White Sox that has been used since 1991 is a simple text logo that spells SOX, while the Cleveland Indians Logo is a smiling red Indian.

The latest logo of the Detroit Tigers is a simple blue letter D. This particular logo has been used since last year. The Kansas City Royals logo, used from 2002 until present, is a combination of both a symbol and a text logo. Likewise, the logo of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim is a simple red letter A that has a halo. For the Minnesota Twins, the logo that they have been using since 1987 is a simple baseball ball with a name of the team itself, while the New York Yankees logo is a baseball ball with a baseball bat and an American hat placed behind a text that spell “Yankees”.

Additionally, the Oakland Athletics logo is just a simple green logo both with symbol and texts. The Seattle Mariners logo is looks like a compass, while the logo of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays is a striking blue, black and white combination. The Texas Rangers logo is a simple blue, white and red combination of a baseball ball and a text, and the logo of the Toronto Blue Jays just spells “jays” that looks very simple yet striking.

American Baseball Confederation- The American Baseball Confederation is one of the College Baseball and Amateur Leagues. This confederation is composed of only nine teams namely with different baseball team logos. The teams include the Ocean Giants, the Protocall Starz, the Toms River Black Sox, the Lakewood Prep Cougars, the Manchester Yankees, the Monmouth Monarchs, the Bridgewater Yankees, the Central Jersey Clippers, and the Jersey Shore Tides. Like all the other logos, the logos of these baseball teams are kept simple yet appealing. In fact, most of their logos are text logos rather than the combination of both a text and a symbol logo.

A baseball team logo has to be carefully designed. Its logo has to go with the baseball team’s philosophies, precepts, and ideals. Aside from defining the baseball team, the logo should also reflect the baseball team’s passion for the sport.

Generally, a baseball team logo is the own identity of a baseball team. That is why, the moment the designing is done, is should have to be protected from duplications and plagiarisms. That way, the team is the sole owner of a particular logo and can also redesign it in the future.

Baseball team logos are indeed essential to identify one baseball team from the other.
